The World of Unwritten Maps

Imagine a cold and gloomy northern highland. Giant moss-covered pines stretch their sullen crowns toward the heavy leaden sky. An eternal haze swirls over the serene surface of white – colder than ice – waters of a lake lost in these forests. In the mist among the trees, every now and then, the ghost of a predatory shadow flickers, and the oppressive silence is broken only by the occasional distant howl of a wolf or a low, rumbling roar.

Hundreds of miles to the south lie the endless russet steppes. From horizon to horizon, the eye beholds only a swaying sea of coppergrass, and occasionally, rare table mountains. Across this arid land, herds of stone bulls roam slowly in their eternal migration, while predatory birds circle lazily in the skies above – there’s no need to hurry here… until you hear the growing thunder of talards’ hoofbeats and the rapidly approaching whistle of bone amulets adorning the manes of their steeds.

The glittering Bryleahn jungles: a warm realm of rampant nature – here, you never know from which tree a predatory moss-hide beast might leap, or from where a poisoned dart might fly. The scorching sun of the Scarred Lands of Bruna. Poisonous mists of the Fetid Fens. The mind-dulling twilight of Noctaria. The blazing wastelands of the Shards of Flammarg.

All of this is Taliskarn: a harsh, unfriendly, inhospitable, and at times outright cruel world. A world created to challenge players and immerse them in an atmosphere of perpetual struggle: for resources, for territories, for life and freedom. A world where most of its expanse appears to its inhabitants as a blank spot on an yet-uncharted map – a map that might be waiting for your quill.
