Work in Progress
Currently in progress—this is just a rough draft that may still change significantly. However, the overall vibe should remain: these are thoughtful and reserved craftsmen, whose outward calm hides a beastly fury ready to ignite at any moment.
In DnD terms, if considering stereotypical inclinations of the people, Kyonnhs are best suited as inventors and warriors.
Kyonnhs—the “Prudent Tribe”—are tall humanoids who blend wild, animalistic features with a noble grandeur. Their faces resemble a mix of feline and lupine traits:
- a broad, flattened nose like that of a snow leopard;
- a massive brow, pronounced supraorbital ridges, and deep-set, bright eyes with vertical pupils;
- large, sensitive ears with pointed tips on the crown of their heads;
- a heavy jaw and powerful fangs—not long enough to protrude beyond the mouth;
- a long mane: men trim it beneath the chin in a short beard-like fashion, while women weave it into intricate braids.
Kyonnhs have gray skin, as they rarely see the sun due to constant mists. Thick, coarse fur grows on their necks, underarms, groin, behind the knees, and on their elbows.
Kyonnhs are calm and deliberate, slow in judgment and thorough in decision-making, but behind this mask of cold-bloodedness slumbers an untamed, bestial fury—and may Dh’Fhalbh protect those who dare awaken it.
They are a people of skilled artisans and craftsmen. The lands of the Kyonnhs are rich in silver and other metals, and they have achieved remarkable proficiency in metalworking. They live in clans, build stone cities, forge metal weapons, armor, and tools, and for the most part, follow the Cult of Mastery: “understand the world by reshaping it according to your will.”
The heart of the Kyonnhs’ world is the great city of Baleymore, standing at the center of their lands. This impregnable fortress hosts the council of master-elders from all clans, who gather to exchange knowledge and determine the fate of their people.
